Black Oak

Backlit in the afternoon light, the leaves of this Black Oak glow as its trunk and branches become silhouettes. Not as massive as the great redwoods or as sturdy as the scented pines or as old as the twisted bristlecones but none the less just as impressive with its elegance and grace. By reflecting the attributes of beauty it glorifies God with what God loves: ‘For God is beautiful and loves beauty’ and thus manifests that attribute in the world. And by that, we can understand why our eyes find this tree so alluring, so fascinating, so captivating!
