Ephemeral Veil

Photography is writing with light and so it should go without saying that a photograph will convey something to the viewer. The message conveyed is also dependent on what the photographer wishes to say. A photograph is in some respects like a time machine. It captures light for a brief moment in time and forever freezing the scene in front of the camera. However in reality, the subject depicted in the photograph is already long gone, as is the nature of everything in the world, time just keeps moving forward. Nothing you see today will appear the same a year from now or a month, a day or even in the next hour. Everything passes before our eyes and we somehow become veiled of that reality. Wake up to it before our own passing suddenly awakens us.
