Pine and Moss

A Monterey Pine tree a horn's blow away from the rocky coast of Point Lobos along the California coast stands covered in a moss that can only thrive due to the moist coastal fog that covers this area the majority of the year. Symbiotic relationships in nature are not uncommon but few are as beautiful as this. We too have a relationship with both this tree and moss and its one that neither we nor the tree and moss can do without. It boggles the mind why these partners of ours are felled almost indiscriminately. We need them to breath as they need us to do the very same. Without the trees, we would not be here now.
