Three In A Row

Three ostriches depicted on this part of the painting all with arrows in their rumps. Shown this way, we get a glimpse of how the ancients saw them - as a flocking bird. Predators know to always single out a stray from the flock and zone in on it for a successful kill. A flock or herd has a much better chance of escaping if they can stay together. Strength in numbers always serves the group in the end. What one can do, two can do better and three better yet.
