Redwood Glow

Deep in the dark mountain canyons and valleys of the Coastal Ranges along the California coast stand the Sequoia Sempervirens, otherwise known as the Coast Redwoods. Towering hundreds of feet above the ground they block out most light reaching the forest floor and when it does shine through it is bright and mottled. However there are times when the fog is just starting to break such that the light brings on a soft and glorious glow that lights up the entire forest. And then the redwoods exhibit a contented glow glorifying the light that falls upon them with stout and regal grandeur. And in their contentment we find solace and refuge from the pursuit of unsatisfying material and physical things that bring neither peace nor contentment to the heart.
