{"id":1637,"date":"2012-12-10T13:29:36","date_gmt":"2012-12-10T21:29:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/blog\/?p=1637"},"modified":"2012-12-10T13:29:36","modified_gmt":"2012-12-10T21:29:36","slug":"missing-in-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/blog\/index.php\/2012\/12\/missing-in-action\/","title":{"rendered":"Missing In Action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes I think that if it was not for the moon and its cyclic nature keeping me engaged in photography that I might drop off the photographic map. \u00a0Photography has grown to be something of a second nature to me. \u00a0Its not something that I do anymore as much as it is something that almost defines who I am.<\/p>\n<p>When I leave the house on any venture the first thought that comes to mind is whether or not the camera needs to be with me. \u00a0Early on, a serious sense of insecurity would wash over me if I left anywhere\u00a0without\u00a0my camera. \u00a0I was afraid to come upon a scene and not have the means to capture it. \u00a0I could not fathom what I would do coming back without being able to share what I had seen. \u00a0What I failed to understand back then was that the camera was not the only way to convey what was experienced out &#8216;in the field&#8217;. \u00a0Today, using the large format camera capturing those fleeting moments that you happen upon slip by so quickly that I would not be able to capture them before they slip away while setting up the camera. \u00a0So by virtue of the camera I use today, it has forced me to relax and just take things as they come.<\/p>\n<p>If I happen to out specifically to photograph with the large format camera, then things tend to be more serious and I work with seriousness in mind. \u00a0If I go out now not specifically looking to photograph then I tend to relax and enjoy the scenery without the worry of missing anything, because I can still enjoy the scene myself. \u00a0Save for the monthly moon photos, it \u00a0would seem to you, my readers, that I have not shown anything but that. \u00a0The reality is that I have been regularly engaged in photographing in Reality. \u00a0Further the realities of life have reared there ugly head as well consuming my time as try to\u00a0sustain\u00a0myself and family. \u00a0So while I have continued to engage in what has become second nature to me those of you who only interact with me through this virtual world might think I have dropped off the map, but in reality I have just been missing in action. \u00a0There are only so many hours in a day and unfortunately after everyone and everything is done taking its time from me, you my virtual friends\u00a0receive\u00a0the short end, or in some cases no end, of the stick.<\/p>\n<p>I know I have said before that I would try to be more regular in posting and releasing new work, and while that still is the\u00a0decision I would love to take, my and is sometimes forced otherwise. \u00a0None the less, I do have much to share with you in the next few weeks as 2012 comes to a close. \u00a0I will be updating both the web journal as well as the website with my &#8216;best of 2012&#8217; images. \u00a0So please stay tuned. \u00a0For now, enjoy this photo titled &#8216;Indecision&#8217; that was made along the Big Sur coastline along the central California coast.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/detail\/IndecisionWPDtl.jpg\" thumbnail=\"rel\" rel=\"thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Indecision\" src=\"https:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/images\/IndecisionWP.jpg\" alt=\"Indecision - Big Sur Coastline\" width=\"500\" height=\"167\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Indecision<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Peace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So while I have continued to engage in what has become second nature to me those of you who only interact with me through this virtual world might think I have dropped off the map, but in reality I have just been missing in action.
