{"id":583,"date":"2010-03-14T12:29:37","date_gmt":"2010-03-14T19:29:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/blog\/?p=583"},"modified":"2010-06-16T12:11:23","modified_gmt":"2010-06-16T19:11:23","slug":"abstractions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/blog\/index.php\/2010\/03\/abstractions\/","title":{"rendered":"Abstractions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/images\/gazosholeabstractdtlwp.jpg\" rel=\"thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Abstraction\" src=\"https:\/\/www.organiclightphoto.com\/images\/gazosholeabstractwp.jpg\" alt=\"Abstraction\" width=\"450\" height=\"172\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Light is an abstraction.\u00a0 We can&#8217;t see it in its pure form.\u00a0 It is invisible until it interacts with other objects in creation.\u00a0 When it does finally interact, it undergoes a transformation within the object it reaches by exciting the very electrons that make up the atoms of the molecules of that very object.\u00a0 When the electrons calm down, for lack of a better description, they emit new photons of light that are unique to that object.\u00a0 This is one reason why everything is distinguishable; why the sky\u00a0appears different than the ground, why a tree\u00a0appears different from a flower, why you are different from everyone else.<\/p>\n<p>Pure light is invisible and if we were to look into pure light, in its full intensity, we would not only be blinded by its intensity, but we would only see white &#8211; that is nothing.\u00a0 Likewise, in the complete absence of light, pure darkness,\u00a0we would be blinded as well seeing only black &#8211; that is we see nothing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Light&#8217;s elusiveness prevents us from seeing at the extremes.\u00a0 However in the middle, there is shade &#8211; the mixture of pure light and\u00a0pure darkness.\u00a0It is\u00a0only here\u00a0that our eyes can see the light and transmit that information to our brain where we can interpret what we see.\u00a0 But even more amazing is that our brain is in complete darkness.\u00a0 Light never reaches the actual organ in our head.\u00a0 What we &#8220;see&#8221;, the light that reaches our eyes stops right there.\u00a0 The light is not piped into our brains, only electrical impulses from the optic nerve reach the brain.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to all of this, the objects that we think we &#8220;see&#8221; are not truly seen at all.\u00a0 In reality we are only seeing the light that emanates from the objects in creation after they have interacted with pure light, which we cannot see.\u00a0 So we may never know the true nature of creation.<\/p>\n<p>One final thought &#8211; if the brain interprets everything that we perceive through our senses in this vast universe, then it would seem that the vast limitless size of the universe\u00a0actually only occupies the space contained in our head.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s that for abstraction?<\/p>\n<p>Peace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Light&#8217;s elusiveness prevents us from seeing at the extremes.
