Stranded

Left behind by the surf during low tide this single shell sits on the rocks along Moro Bay. The rough detail in the rocks and the starkness of the shell caught my eye. No one like being left behind and yet we all must leave this world behind when we meet our death. We journey on alone. We spend our time from that point on in either comfort or anguish alone until we meet our Maker with only our deeds to keep us company. Be they good and we will be gleeful, and anything other than that and we will have stranded ourselves.
